Some Changes are on the way
by krandor on Mar.25, 2009, under Eve Online
Since the economy is in a rut, and this seems to have translated into higher alliance fees (don’t aske me how that works, i’m not quite sure either.. i think it has something to do with a lack of the number of pirates and the average global tempurature increasing). Anyway, to be able to afford this, the corp has instituted a 10M per member monthly fee, which is chump change if you actually apply yourself, especially in 0.0.
The deadline for the fee is this saturday, and out of the 41 people in corp only 12 have paid their 10M (this is as of last night when i logged). So, i have a feeling come sunday the corp will be much smaller and my foot will be sore.
I really hope people pay their share
A sight to behold….then it was popped :D
by Shimokurasaka on Feb.20, 2009, under Eve Online, skill training
LOL well ill try to explain this as clearly as possible. I go out to naku to pick up my first myr. (holy cow malk only 26mill?? you are like my jesus in a jewish sense of the word!) and a sight it was. I jump in it and pick up a few drones that were cheaper in empire than in k25, supprising?, i think NOT. As i fly back with no weapons, i choose the shorter more dangerous route, and guess what? Along the way i am targeted twice by mega’s and then chased all the way to bfw, before our camp got em. In k25 i create (what i believed to be) a suitible ratting device that would make me some money. I come back a day later and get popped in my vexor, i come back in my pod (ty god) and i hop in the myr. to make that money i mentioned. Right before i leave though, i am conviced to premium insure the ship (carnes i believe) TY carnes i get out to a really nice ratting spot and i kill a bs that has a 1.2 mill bounty. sweet. I go to the next belt to find 3 bs and 2 cruisers about 50k off, me (being stupid) rush them as much as i can, the closest i got was 45km before i was in 25% armor, at this point i had my drones in and was turning to warp….i SHOULD have warped long ago but it was being a butthead and would allow me to even though i was all set up to go, and JUST as i get into warp (kerplow) there goes the rolf-copter. Sadness because in the end i didn’t even get past the 1’st bs’s shield, better yet i didnt even get half way….goes to show ya. Now i understand that i should bookmark them and warp way away them come back at 0 and RAPE THEM. But in the meantime, i created a super awesome 85% thermal and kinetic armor resist myr. with an effective hp. of 81k against the rats that i will be dueling. This time, im sure to win O.O (also) kran. i probably need you to tell me how to attack the rats that are far off haha.
FRAPS
by krandor on Feb.19, 2009, under Eve Online, PvP
FRAPS, the ever popular recording program used by many Eve pilots to record their adventures and exploits. I’ve been collecting footage of our PvP engagements for a while and I’ve been thinking about putting something together. Just not sure what kind of theme to go with.
….
I’ll keep thinking on the subject and get back to you when I’ve made some kind of decision.
Some Late Night Carebearing
by krandor on Feb.12, 2009, under Carebearing, Eve Online
Tonight Spoon and I did our usual ratting. Things were ok, but the system we frequent was quite busy, so the rats were hard to find. We tried a few quieter systems but soon found ourselves getting tired and bored. So I found myself the perfect solution. Caffeine and rocks!

This was enough to perk me up and keep me going.

Spoon and I then spent about an hour or so mining some of the various shiny rocks that we’d been ogling for a while. We didn’t make all that much isk, much less than if we’d been ratting, but it was a nice change of pace. Plus we got to see how fast we could kill the rocks
Anyway, it’s getting late and I still need to squeeze in an episode of Legend of the Seeker
Farewell Brock Samson
by krandor on Feb.11, 2009, under Eve Online, PvP
Monday was a sad day. Brock Samson, my dear Megathron fired his last volley. We were in a fleet to try to bust a camp on the BWF gate in Geminate. I had joined late, rushing in to catch up with the main fleet element, so I’d missed a lot of what the plan was. That didn’t really matter in the end, as everything went to shit.
I jump into BWF and warp to a fleet member i knew was on the gate. Warp Drive Active! 40 AU’s to go! I spend what seems like an eternity in warp and finally land on the gate! The enemy fleet his huge! More than 30 ships! The FC calls a primary and I unleash my trusty Tech 2 Neutron Blaster Cannons as soon as my target locks! We melt an enemy Typhoon really fast, Carnes calls for armor, I lock him and begin repping. A new primary is called, another typhoon. CydonianKnight also calls for armor, I lock him and send my med repper drones after him. No one else seems to be repping Carnes’ ‘geddon so he goes down pretty quick. Cydo seems to be doing better as weels calls for reps as well, but as i target him he’s already in deep hull and can’t do anything more about that, weels goes down in his Domi. The second Typhoon finally goes down, then there’s silence. People start asking for a new primary. Someone calls out another Typhoon, but he’s 40+km off the main element, I can’t hit that; neither can half the gang. Things start to unravel from there. Ships off by themselves start getting picked off, and soon I’m seeing my shield disappear. Then i hit armor, I’d called for armor, but it was no use, I wasn’t getting reps! I start to align to warp off since i was still outside one of the bubbles surrounding the gate, but I wasn’t quick enough, soon Brock was in shambles and I was sitting there in my pod.
I warp back to station in an attempt to activate Voltron, Brock’s older brother, but by the time I got there the fight was over. We’d lost over 15 ships and only managed to kill 4.
Like I said, a sad sad day
Adventures in Wonderland
by krandor on Feb.02, 2009, under Eve Online, PvP
As I log in this evening, I’m met with the opportunity to get some fine ratting done. But what do I do instead? I get myself camped in the top station in FDZ4-A by 3 carriers.
Lets back up a bit first though. We had a nice op going with a FC I’d never flown with, we defended K25 very well. Actually killed 12 ships and only lost 4! For us, that’s pretty damned good! I was in a Blackbird (first real use in PvP), and I think i did pretty well. I had trouble jamming Battleships and other ECM ships (like falcons and rooks), but smaller craft were pretty much perma-jammed. Carnes had his Armageddon out there melting through hulls left and right. Quite a show tbh. The only sad part was that we weren’t able to kill the Navy Issue Apocalypse. We missed a point on him or something, not really sure what happened.
After that fight, Harkonen logged on and was very distraught that he missed the big fight and then promptly started a new fleet to find things to pew. There were WT (War Targets) reported in the BWF/Oijanen area so we got our fleet of multiple RR Battleships and a smattering of Inty’s, AF’s, and HIC’s to the Oijanen Gate in BWF. After letting a few small ships get through, we threw up a T2 Large bubble thanks to Carnes. Well, word got out and no one came
We then decided it would be a good idea to go roaming. So we did, straight to FDZ. We found some targets of opportunity and took some shots at them. Not soon after that carriers started appearing. Sheesh, you kill one Ishtar and they drop carriers
I kinda feel honored.
They weren’t going anywhere, so I logged in station. I’ll get it out tomorrow or this weekend.
Man, I need to make some money, this PvP stuff is cutting my profits.
RL Difficulties
by krandor on Jan.30, 2009, under Eve Online, PvP
I was hoping to blog about some of the awesome PvP we’d been taking part in over the last week. But I couldn’t since I was only involved on tuesday, which btw, we did have some awesome fights. RR Blasterthron ftw! This was the big fight we had, sadly we lost more than we should have. Mainly due to pilots not really paying attention. When the FC says only BS’s jump through, that’s probably what he means. Half our losses were because small ships jumped in before we could do anything in our big tank ships… Oh well.
Anyway, back to the reason I haven’t been on so much. Krandor and Carnes’ house has no power. The recent ice storms that came through pretty much killed our ability to (in the words of Malkavian) “bring the bang bang”. I think it’s effected other people too, as for the last few days the amount of people online in corp has been low. Hopefully this will change back to what it was before.

Carnes and I trying to stay warm!
CROKITE
by krandor on Jan.27, 2009, under Carebearing
So I took some time with Kran to do some mining today. I only got two cycles in before I had to log and go to work, but just those two cycles were impressive! After refining I ended up with over 1500 Zydrine on my plate! FOR LESS THAN 30 MINUTES OF MINING! I can only imagine if we got a few more hulks out there and had some peace and quiet to mine. It’s not likely since red and neutral gangs love coming through our home system. No wonder the alliance loves mining there whenever they get a chance.
I want to melt some roids pronto!
Operation: Train Falcon is underway
by krandor on Jan.26, 2009, under Eve Online, Spaceship Command, skill training
I’ve noticed that ECM is a huge thing in PvP now. And a fleet always needs a good ECM Pilot. Hell, we all learned that flying with VGL and CAPS. deltauk1 is probably the best ECM pilots i’ve ever flown with. I can only hope that i’ll be as good as he is. One thing that he did show me was that ECM is to be feared. There’s nothing like a three man gang taking out a gang with double the numbers just because delta could sit back and jam most of the enemy.
As of right now, i can fly a Blackbird with T2 Jammers. I’m working on my targetting skills right now (Targetting V in just under 4 days now). Next will be maxing out my long range jamming skills (only to 2 or 3 right now). To be honest though, i’ll be saving the rig skills for last, I think the other stuff is more important. Jamming strength, range, and quantity take priority over rigging IMO. The hard thing will be learning to fly an ECM ship properly. I’ve been thinking about how i’ll fly in a fleet. Small tactics i can use to surprise the enemy when they try to get the jump on us. I’ve also been thinking about all the bookmarks i’ll need to make as tacticals on my home turf (a task that i really don’t look forward to, but i know needs to be done).
So, if everything goes well, i’ll be in a falcon/rook in about a month and half. Wish me luck!
LGNBM enters the Blogosphere!!
by admin on Jan.26, 2009, under Eve Online
So, after a while of running my own RL blog, i thought it would be cool to give my corp a face other than through our website.
The plan: Let corp members blog about stuff without having to use their personal blogs. This way we can maintain an ingame feel.
We’ll see how this works
